Ecosystems/Installations
I bring my own kind of wildness to manmade places. I like to push up against the constraint of an empty space. It’s a primal blackboard where I can make my mark.

Choosing from my collection of urban and natural detritus and refashioning and recycling materials from past installations, I might pick long strands of dried sugarcane, rusted wire mesh, plastic abraded by pavement. As I move pieces around, binding and twisting disparate parts, and fusing or juxtaposing color, texture and form, fragments of feelings and visual memories arise.

Each world I construct is an investigation. Parts coalesce; rhythms develop and build energy. Some elements dwell in stillness, others become overgrown and chaotic. New forms of nature emerge -- quirky, unpredictable and in the midst of transformation.
